 A sneak preview of the kits before you receive them tomorrow. The design is what Xamax design team came up with. They've taken inspiration from our after match shirts, some old kits they've done for the open age and a couple of designs various people posted up. The collar has been changed, I asked for a two button grandad collar with traditional rubber buttons that feature on the shirt in the bottom left of the picture. However, Xamax couldn't facilitate this. So we opted for a cut out neck design rather than a round neck, as on the old shirts. This should mean the shirts don't have to be cut as they inevitably shrink and the boys grow. The shorts are a slightly updated version of the shorts from the last kit with some red and white detailing added to mirror the shirt design. The restructuring of our funding means we now have money available for new kits every other year. So we will play in this kit until the end of 2016 season. Shirt sponsors will allow our money to stretch much further and I would like to thank them for their support of the club. The current sponsorship means we have some money left over as the total cost of the kit was just under £600 so we will be looking in to the possibility of bringing in after match wear in sooner than expected. The delay in receiving the kit is primarily due to the fact that I waited until players were signed on for the new season, so everyone received a kit at the same time, and also to keep cost down. But this clashes with Xamax busiest period. Therefore, they've conceded we can order kits in future at the bulk price. It's not prefect. But Xamax are by far the cheapest manufacturers of shirts and the quality is important with double stitched seams and a heavy weight material used. The elastic in the necks is also much stronger than for example a football kit. so they should stand up to the physicality of the game.
